Pandaw
The Mekong river flows through six countries and Pandaw are proud to now offer river cruises through all of these, though sadly not joined up due to the natural barrier of a waterfall on the Laos Cambodia border.
Our most popular route remains from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) in Vietnam to Siem Reap in Cambodia. With this you see the best of Indochina, from the French colonial cities of Saigon and Phnom Penh to the World Heritage Site of Angkor with its amazing Khmer temples.
We pass through a richly varying riverscape from the vast Mekong Delta with floating markets, bustling trading towns and vibrant river life to the silence of the Cambodian Mekong river with its delightful rural life.
We explore the Tonle River to the edge of the Tonle Lake and spend a couple of days tinkering in Phnom Penh, with its temples, palaces, museums and buzzing night life not to mention shopping.
Perhaps the most exciting moment of this voyage is a visit to the Dolphin grounds at Stuc Treng. Only we can go there because of the special shallow draft design of our river cruise ships.
Also in Vietnam we ply the Red River system that flows down from Tonkinese Alps to Hanoi and on to Halong Bay. This small ship river cruise provides an illuminative insight into North Vietnamese life and culture.
